Novice Tactics for Pai Gow Poker

June 13th, 2008 No comments

Pai Gow Poker is a cutting-edge game with old ancestry. Built on the old Chinese domino game and the current American adaptation of poker, Pai Gow poker marries the east with the western in an awesome game for beginning level players.

Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the gambler vs. the house, unlike most other poker games that gamblers play against other players. By betting against the dealer, beginner players don’t have to worry about any other, more advanced gamblers winning their mulla.

Another Pai Gow benefit is the relatively leisurely game pace, newcomers can take their time and scheme while not needing to make hasty selections.

It’s also easier to gamble on for an extended time with only a little bit of money after all, to not win, each of your hands needs to be lower than both of the casino’s hands.

Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the regular 52-card basic deck and a single joker. The player is given 7 cards face up and the house gets seven cards faces hidden.

A five card hand and one 2 card hand have to be put together from the 7 cards, the 5 card hand has to be higher than the two card hand. To succeed, a player is required to have both of his hand totals to be higher than the casino’s.
